SUMMER PROGRAM ASSOCIATE

Program Dates: June 24, 2024 to August 2, 2024; Training dates of June 19, 20 & 21, 2024 - Must be able to commit to the entire program

SCOPE: The Extended Learning Program Summer Associate is responsible for developing the minds and character of our students. The Summer Enrichment Associates are expected to provide each student support to promote academic growth through rigorous activities aligned to the Common Core State standards.

Job Duties/Descriptions:

* Supports a variety of activities ranging from Art, Physical Education, Gardening, Science, Reading, Math, etc.

* Plan and execute lesson plans and projects and record progress observations.

* Able to communicate well and work cooperatively with colleagues.

* Able to problem solve quickly.

* Must adhere to the policies and procedures of the summer programs and the Danbury Board of Education.

* Attend staff meetings and program professional development activities.

* Keep students supervised and safe at all times.

* Must be willing to take leadership responsibilities in the classroom.

* Able to ride on a school bus and work in an outside environment.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma, GED or higher

* Experience working in summer programs, CYO or other student groups.

* Certified in First Aid and CPR.

Rate: $17.00 hourly
