Danone North America is Hiring a Manager, Licensing Near Broomfield, CO

Help lead the strategic development of Danone's recently established outbound licensing function to integrate our brands into culture, build brand equity, and deliver high margin extensions into other food and beverage categories that provide incremental income to fuel A&P. Reporting to the Senior Director of Media and Licensing, the Manager, Licensing is a newly created role primarily focused 70% to outbound licensing and 30% to new inbound licenses, collaborations, and partnerships. This position is Hybrid, located in White Plains, NY OR Broomfield, CO.

  • You will be the primary licensing expert for 7 brands partnering closely with our licensing agency, licensors/licensees, and internal stakeholders across Marketing, R&I, Legal, Scientific Affairs, Procurement, and Quality.
  • You will lead the strategic roadmap, category extension, trademark clearances, trade collateral development/approvals with agency and Media/Licensing/Sponsorship leadership.
  • You will ensure licensing is a key part of the annual brand planning process and licensing activities are featured in brand plan presentations to leadership, sales, and customers.
  • You will be accountable for leading brands/licensees through all phases of outbound deals from deal memo to contract execution, to product development, to marketing/sales plan, to launch, and to royalty collection and reporting.
  • You will consult on new inbound licenses, meet with prospective new licensors across entertainment, sports, food/beverage, consumables, etc... and partner with Danone's Global Entertainment Licensing team on evaluating and presenting inbound opportunities to US brands.
  • You will support product placement and brand integration within entertainment content including supporting in identifying properties based on data, managing external stakeholders, and providing monthly/quarterly performance reporting updates to marketing leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • You will participate in the licensing industry by attending trade shows and SPLiCE events to stay at the forefront of licensing trends, issues, and to share knowledge internally.

The base compensation range for this position is $115,000-$130,000 commensurate with experience. FUNCTIONAL AND LEADERSHIP SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Expert knowledge of outbound and inbound licensing including experience with contract agreement negotiations & management, rates/fee structures, processes setup & implementation, tools & platforms, compliance & regulatory, and stakeholder management.
  • Expert knowledge of licensing planning, strategy development, data analysis, and seamless execution - with a keen eye on identifying opportunities based on established relationships.
  • Experience in partnering closely with brand managers and cross-functional stakeholders with strong influencing and collaboration skills to drive adoption and develop high quality brand extensions and partnerships.
  • In depth experience in strategic annual licensing planning and project management of licensing workstreams.
  • Prior brand steward experience. This is an IP-based role; must represent Danone and its brands with confidence and professionalism at key meetings and events and ensure adherence to legal and brand guidelines.
  • Excellent people leadership skills.
  • Strength in storytelling with demonstrated ability to distill complex data and visualize key information for influence and decision making with executive audience.

INDICITIVE EXPERIENCE

  • You will have 8 years of brand licensing development and execution experience with a proven track record of closing new high margin deals and notable brand collaborations.
  • You will have leadership / executive presence to influence and build and manage relationships across the organization, agency, and licensee/licensor partners.
  • You will have demonstrated ability to manage large projects autonomously across multiple stakeholders with a focus on being highly organized, detail-oriented and results driven with a keen ability to navigate ambiguity.
