Dar us-Salaam, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community, is seeking an IT Specialist to oversee various aspects of its technological infrastructure. The IT Specialist will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations across a range of IT functions critical to the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

1. Desktop Support: Troubleshooting classroom IT resources issues, triaging support calls, prioritize and track tickets.
2. Internet Connectivity Management: Monitor and maintain internet connectivity to ensure uninterrupted access for organizational activities.
3. IT Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard the organization's digital assets, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
4. Networking: Design, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure to optimize performance and ensure reliability.
5. Audio/Visual Capabilities: Manage audio and visual equipment to support presentations, events, and meetings, ensuring seamless functionality and user satisfaction.
6. IT Support for Community Events: Provide technical support during community events, including setup, troubleshooting, and assistance to attendees as needed.
7. Google Cloud Development: Utilize Azure and Google Cloud Platform services for application development, deployment, and maintenance, leveraging cloud-native solutions to enhance organizational efficiency, including storage solutions, databases, analytics, networking and developer tools.
8. Email Services Management: Administer email systems, including setup, configuration, and maintenance of email accounts, distribution lists, and security protocols.
9. DNS Services: Manage Domain Name System (DNS) services to ensure accurate and efficient resolution of domain names to IP addresses.
10. Administrative Enterprise Applications: Support and maintain administrative enterprise applications, such as databases, CRM systems, and productivity tools, to facilitate organizational operations.
11. System Integration: Familiar with API configuration and integration set up and implementation, testing and documentation.
12. IT system documentation for applications, systems, user and admin documentation.
13. Data and system backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2. Minimum 8-years experience in the IT field, at least 4 in infrastructure and 4 in user support.
3. Proven experience in managing internet connectivity, IT security, networking, and audio/visual systems.
4. Strong knowledge and experience with Azure, SQL Server, AWS and Google Cloud Platform and experience in cloud-based development and deployment.
5. Strong knowledge and experience with email services administration, DNS management, and enterprise application support.
6. Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
8. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Independent player and ability to document IT procedures, user guides, systems documentation and tip sheets.
10. Commitment to the mission and values of Dar us-Salaam, with a desire to contribute to the organization's success through innovative technological solutions.
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
12. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with users and document solutions.

15. Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols may be required for some positions.
16. Familiarity with help desk software and ticketing systems for managing user inquiries and requests.
17. CompTIA A Certification Must
18. CompTIA Network Certification will be considered as an advantage
