SUMMARY:The Solution Architect will lead and be at the forefront of building our next generation assessment scoring platform. This key role works as a member of the Solution Architecture team within the Application Development group. The incumbent in this position will possess in-depth knowledge of the Education Technology (EdTech) landscape, DRC’s application portfolio, and architectural patterns and practices for highly scalable systems. This position will be responsible for meeting with product managers and key business stakeholders and determining how to provide architectural guidance for DRC’s applications to meet the business needs and be eager to be a part of cutting-edge technology. The position involves regular interaction with cross-functional technical directors/architects, application development teams, product owners, clients, and various departments within DRC. The position requires collaboration across all IT domains and business units and requires excellent communication and relationship management skills to influence teams and clients to successfully implement technology products. RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide architectural direction including patterns and practices across multiple development teams.Provide architectural direction on cloud-based and on-premise hosted solutions.Provide quick decisions enabling teams to continue to move forward on current objectives, but still meet long term strategic needs (transition architecture guidance).Identify risk and solutions that mitigate or minimize risk to the software applications or hosting environment.Provide hands-on direction to development teams for new architectural patterns and practices.Identify solutions and architectures that keep application development projects within budget.Provide high level architectural overviews to IT leadership and DRC business stakeholders that clearly describe how the technical solution solves their business problems.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience plus a bachelor’s degree.3 years of experience of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructure.7 years of experience within specific technology domain areas (software development, cloud architecture, system design or engineering, data engineering, or development operations).Experience driving technical and/organizational change of significant complexity.A passion for technology and learning new technology.Two or more years of EdTech industry experience is preferred. ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:Experience leading software automation to minimize manual dependencies in critical business processes.Ability to analyze information, apply knowledge and experience, and offer solution alternatives and recommendations.Familiarity with multiple software development languages (Angular, Node, Java, .Net, etc.).Familiarity with multiple database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, Dynamo, Mongo, etc.).Familiarity with on premise and cloud-based hosting environments.Familiarity with architectural frameworks (TOGAF, etc.).QTI (Question and Test Interoperability), Ed-Fi, CEDS, experience preferred.Familiarity with microservice architecture patterns.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Atlassian, Google suite, and other corporate software tools.Relate effectively and work respectfully with diverse workgroups.Ability to think technically and analytically.Ability to consistently perform well during times of increased workload.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Strong communication and organizational skills.Other duties as needed. Reporting to this position: No direct reports. DRC retains the right to change or assign other duties to this positionNo Agencies, PleaseCompany cannot provide sponsorship for this positionwww.datarecognitioncorp.comAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
