Datadog's Network Device Monitoring product allows customers to monitor physical network hardware running in datacenters and corporate networks. The team owns an agent responsible for collecting several types of network device telemetry such as SNMP metrics, Cisco SD-WAN, and NetFlow. The team also owns a backend pipeline responsible for ingesting, indexing, and querying device telemetry.
We are seeking a product oriented engineering manager to support the team's growth, focussing on emerging SD-WAN technologies, and our burgeoning NetFlow product.

What You'll Do:

• Be technically involved with the team - reviewing architecture decisions or RFCs to make sure the team is making sound decisions and good processes are in place. Share on-call responsibilities with the rest of the team and ensure a culture of operational excellence.
• Maintain a working understanding of the many internal platforms at Datadog, and shape architectures that make good use of said platforms.
• Work with our product team to understand customer needs and refine/define our roadmap.
• Run a lightweight agile process to pace and track what we work on and deliver high quality work in a timely manner.

Who You Are:

• You have a BS/MS/PhD in a Computer Science, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with Go, Python, and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience in backend development, with a working knowledge of frontend development.
• Experience building in a distributed microservices architecture.
• Empathy, collaboration, and communication.
• Bonus: familiarity with networking technologies such as SNMP, NetFlow, and SD-WAN.
