Security Research Systems accelerates all research and development that happens in Datadog's detection engineering and security research organization. As a Senior Engineer, you will be pushing the bounds and owning how we integrate research output to different Datadog products, reduce friction in research workflows, and productionize research infrastructure for fields that span detection engineering to supply chain research. You'll architect experiences and systems that get us closer to real-time understanding of how threats and vulnerabilities are emerging by unlocking Datadog's role as the observability platform for thousands of cloud-native environments. Drive software projects related to detection engineering, threat research and intelligence and software supply chain security
Serve as a technical anchor and partner with some of the best security researchers and detection engineers in the industry to further our R&D mission
Collaborate with product engineering and internal security to influence Datadog's security products
Serve as a mentor to our team of software engineers
Advocate for and design solutions in modern coding languages (Golang, Python, and occasionally Java and Javascript) in a microservice-oriented, multi-cloud environment
Who You Are:
A software engineer who can take problems from ambiguous asks to the finish line, from legacy systems to experimental software
You value collaboration and getting the right things done
Have built scalable systems for detection engineering, high volume data pipelines, or observability before
Keen on the security research we are producing; maybe you've even produced relevant application security, cloud, or threat research or detections yourself
Fluent in one or more modern coding languages (Python, Go, JavaScript, etc.)
Experience with one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Experience with one or more aspects of CI-CD and orchestration in the cloud: infrastructure as code, GitLab, Kubernetes
