JOB TITLE --- Tool Designer (PLM, CAD)
LOCATION ----- Torrance, CA 90504
Duration ----- 1 Years Contract (Extendable)
Pay Rate - $68/hr w2
Description:
Under direct supervision, the candidate must be able to work with a team of production engineers and new product development groups to develop new production tooling designs and solutions to existing tooling problems using CAD software. These new designs and changes will then be released by the design group into the company database using PLM software. This candidate must also provide technical assistance to the tooling fabrication department.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
*Create 3D models and drawings using parametric CAD software, preferably Creo.
*Thorough understanding of current Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing practices.
*Ability to take measurements using basic tools such as calipers, micrometers & gauges.
*Experience with PLM software, preferably Teamcenter.
*Knowledge of many manufacturing processes.
*Ability to problem solve.
*Able to handle more than one project at a time.
*Experience with Microsoft office tools; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams.
Education:
*Undergraduate degree in Engineering and minimum of 4 years related experience ranging from 6-10 years.
