Responsibilities:
- Procurement staff will support departments in obtaining necessary price quotes in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and will play a crucial role in coordinating the formal bid process by advertising proposals and soliciting bids on various agency projects.
- In addition to procurement responsibilities, the selected individual will be involved in property management tasks. This includes assisting in the acquisition, accountability, assignment, maintenance, and disposal of agency property.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Candidates must have experience in procurement, contracts, and purchasing but also knowledge of the guidelines set forth in the Mississippi Code, the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), and/or the Department of
- Information Technology Services (ITS).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to ethical practice and personal integrity.
- An eagerness to serve, be challenged, and grow professionally.
- An ability to work collaboratively to find new solutions to community challenges.
- Knowledge of contract management
- Knowledge of procurement and purchasing laws
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-based environment
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
- Ability to coordinate and maintain relationships with cross-functional departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to effectively interact with administration, faculty,
- staff, and other outside contacts.
Preferred Experience:
- Mississippi government procurement experience
