Duties & Responsibilities: Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)

Implement Davenport Community School District Physical Education Curriculum on a 7 period a day.
Will supervise GIRLS locker room daily
Will co-teacher with other PE teacher in gym facilities
Attend all physical education professional development
Knowledge of Common Core State Standards
Participate fully as a productive team member.
Implement building and district middle level initiatives.
Demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Implement components of Wood Teaching and Learning Plan.
Willingness to participate in staff development, utilize data teams, and RTI process
Serve as a Teacher Advisor daily.
Able to implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of a diverse learning community.
Ability to establish a positive learning environment.
Other duties as assigned by administrator .

Physical Requirements of Position:(HBV ? Yes ? No)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties. Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture. Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather, meet multiple demands from several people, and interact with the public and other staff.

Special Qualification Desired:(Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)

Coaching endorsement preferred
Knowledgeable about middle level practices.
Experience with middle level adolescents necessary.
Demonstrated knowledge of differentiation of instruction necessary to meet needs of diverse student community; evidence such knowledge has been implemented successfully in prior experience.
