POSITION PAY RANGE: $12.00 - 13.00, Hourly

Summary
Acts as a general assistant to the Human Resources department, performing routine and non-routine office functions contributing to the department's objectives. The position handles a large amount of administrative paperwork on a daily basis. Responsibilities
- Perform administrative work of a confidential nature including processing of background checks, compiling new student hire information, collecting of new student hire paperwork and more.
- Generate documents on a computer using Microsoft Office software.
- Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating files and record keeping systems including scanning for electronic image documentation.
- Must be proficient with Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Will be responsible for maintaining and creating multiple documents.
- Must be comfortable using web based programs and listings.
- Responsible for maintaining position postings on a web based program.
- Generate reports, memorandums, correspondence, presentation materials, spreadsheets, graphics, and other similar materials using computer systems.
- Perform tasks and support services associated with preparing and making arrangements for meetings, conferences, travel, or other related duties for internal and external contacts.
- Conduct special projects and assignments as assigned.
- Assist with special events and functions as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
- Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 3 credit hours as a graduate student while meeting the standards of academic progress.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience in office setting preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (PC and mainframe).
- Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution.
- Business office environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain). Some travel between locations may be required (own transportation). No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
