(DEA) is hiring a Transportation Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our dynamic team in Salt Lake City, UT, to support our Roads and Highways group. As an EIT, the responsibilities will be diverse and will include but not be limited to the following:
Works with project teams on all aspects of projects, including project set-up, drafting, design, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.
Prepares and designs improvement plans for a wide range of multi-modal transportation projects
Prepares and/or modifies construction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs for projects
Analyzes maps, reports, drawings, as-builts and test results for design projects
Assists with post design construction support services to respond to contractor RFI’s, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field observations
Performs construction inspection on project-specific basis
Coordinates work with other disciplines and offices on multi-discipline projects
Assists with utility coordination including conflict analysis and coordination with public and private utility companies
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Engineer-in-Training Certification
0-4 years of professional engineering experience
Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Familiar with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Preferred Qualifications
Drafting and design experience with Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads for the design of alignments and 3D design surfaces
Transportation project experience
Construction experience
1 years of experience designing transportation projects
