David's Pet Services (DPS) is West Hartford, CT's largest and most successful Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Company.

Day to day, here's what working for DPS looks like: After training, you will visit multiple homes in our service area, completing 20, 30, or 45 minute visits back-to-back. Mostly, it is to provide dogs an exhaustive walk, but sometimes it's playtime with puppies, slower let-outs for older dogs and the occasional cat or bunny sit too. 90% of visits are in West Hartford and the West End of Hartford, with a few others very close by. We keep a small radius so you don't have to drive as far (more info about mileage reimbursement below).

We are currently looking for:

1. Part Time - Off Hours (evenings) and Weekends:

For Night Time Visits: Could be 1 visit, might be 4. Could be 45 minutes, could be 4 hours. This could be a weeknight or weekend night too. Depends on client demand. Weekend Day Visits could be 3 hours or even 6 hour shifts too. Depends on the weekend / holiday / time of year. The pets we work with are wonderful, so if you live nearby and want to get your fix of dogs and cats, this shift would be perfect for you.

2. Part Time - Work Day M-F:

For Part Time, this could be around 4-7 visits/ day. Around 2-4 hours/ day. It might be around 930-12, 11-3, 1-4, etc., etc., depending on the day's client demand.

3. Full Time - Work Day M-F:

For Full Time, you could be walking between 6-12 visits/day. Around 5-9 hours/day. This could be from 10-5, or 930-4, etc., etc.

**Please be advised, this listing is for the West Hartford location. For the Part Time positions, you must live within 15/20 minutes of the center of town. For the Full Time Positions, you must live within 20/25 minutes**

All client pets are vetted to ensure they are not aggressive. You're trained in-house; you will be thoroughly prepared. You are not a contractor, but you are a W2 Employee. You're provided liability and workers compensation insurance. We also have a lot of fun; even though you work by yourself (and with furry friends), we have staff parties; our entire team is fun and has a great sense of humor.

The entire day is rewarding; it's the healthiest thing you can do for your body during a work day. No more sitting in front of a computer for hours. Get used to exercise, soaking up Vitamin D, and adding years to your life. Getting paid to be healthy and playing with cute animals? Um, does it get any better than that?

You are paid a wage and mileage reimbursement from our company, and tips from the majority of our customers. With wages and tips, you will always make a minimum of $18/hr. (if you don't, DPS will make up the difference). However, $18/hr. is a conservative estimate. Your hourly wage will usually be ~$18-$20/hour depending on length of visits, extra dogs, and amount of tips. As you grow with our company and receive raises (regularly), that number will go up as well.

Please note, your hourly calculation does not include mileage reimbursement, that is extra. :)

Full timers receive a minimum (with room to grow) of three days of PTO (7 hours x $18) and, if needed, Dental Insurance as well.
