Our medical malpractice insurance defense law firm in downtown Pittsburgh has an associate attorney position available and we are looking for the right professional to join our team. You will provide legal counsel to existing clients and be responsible for performing legal research and drafting documents.
General Responsibilities
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements
- Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior attorneys
- Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
- Collaborate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
- Assist in preparing for and attending court hearings and trials
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the legal process
Qualifications
- Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school; successful completion of the PA bar exam
- 2 years of experience
- Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
- Driver's license
- Salary commensurate with experience
