Davis and Plomin is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to our Lexington, KY Office. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for conceptual design, creating construction drawings, construction administration on design-build HVAC and plumbing systems and coordinating with the installation team, throughout central Kentucky.

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform building heating and cooling load calculations for HVAC equipment sizing and design.
- Assist with drafting building Mechanical and Plumbing systems using Revit and AutoCad to produce permit and construction drawings for design/build projects.
- Help manage RFIs and Submittals on design/build projects.
- Help improve drafting standards and Revit templates/families
- Perform site visits to see the installation process to ensure design objectives are being met and to learn how to improve future designs based on constructability.
- Apply standard engineering design principles and methodologies as well as applicable codes in the preparation of construction documents.
- Lead conceptual and schematic design phases of projects to ensure design fundamentals meet client expectations and code requirements.
- Prepare design documentation including drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, etc.
- Prepare specifications, working drawings, instructions, and other related documents.
- Assist in presentations to prospective clients. Participate in client presentations as needed
- Prepare proposals in response to Requests for Quotations (RFQs) including development of competitive pricing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) designation or Engineer In Training (EIT), preferred.
- Minimum of two years related experience.
- Strong aptitude in engineering design.
- Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Office).
- Well developed, detail oriented organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a design team as well as independently.
