Position Summary

• The Network Engineer works independently and in a group to design, build and support global computer networks, which entails specifying, installing and configuring the devices. This is a “hands-on” position requiring strong technical skills, as well as excellent informal leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Deploying new solutions and configurations to meet business and compliance requirements.
• Designing, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting a global TCP/IP network running QOS.
• Reviewing and analyzing network traffic flows and device logs and taking appropriate action where applicable.
• Creating and maintaining network diagrams.
• Documenting and implementing following networking best practices methodology.
• Researching and recommending changes and improvements to security and infrastructure.

Qualifications/Position Requirements

• Strong time-management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think critically, analytically, and strategically.
• 5 years’ experience in switching, routing and wireless network hardware and related systems.
• 5 years’ experience supporting and troubleshooting network connectivity and performance including utilizing advanced network tools, packet analyzers, syslog and firewall log analysis.
• 3 years’ experience deploying, upgrading, and supporting firewalls and firewall security policies.
• 3 years’ experience in remote access technologies including both concentrator and client access design, management and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation (Python, Terraform, and Ansible for example).
• Experience with RADIUS, TACACS , and NAC including 802.1X, MAC and certificate authentication.
• Strong knowledge in routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
• Hands on experience configuring QOS on LAN/WANs
• Experience design, deploying and supporting a zero-trust architecture is preferred.
• Experience in datacenter switching including spine and leaf architectures is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Wi-Fi implementations and design.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, military or technical school equivalent.
• CCNA/CCNP certification or vendor-equivalent (Palo Alto, Aruba Networks, Cisco, etc.) is preferred.

Compensation

• The expected base salary for this position ranges from $160,000–$180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
