Our client is dedicated to ensuring the highest levels of availability, security, and integrity within their IT infrastructure. The company supports a dynamic team of approximately 300 employees utilizing the full Microsoft 365 suite and on-premise servers. We are seeking a dedicated Security Focused Infrastructure Engineer to join the team and uphold a commitment to operational excellence.

Summary

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing IT infrastructure and ensuring compliance with NIST Security Controls. This individual will be responsible for implementing best practices to ensure the availability, security, and integrity of IT systems. The role involves managing a hybrid environment of Microsoft 365 and on-premise servers running Hyper-V. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to the automation and mass management of workstations and end-user devices, ensuring policies for security and consistency are strictly followed.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

· Maintain and support on-premise servers running Hyper-V.

· Ensure the availability, performance, and security of the Microsoft 365 platform.

· Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.

Security Management

· Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and technologies to protect IT infrastructure from internal and external threats.

· Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability management.

· Monitor security logs, investigate and mitigate potential threats, and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.

Automation and End User Device management

· Develop and implement automation scripts and tools for the mass deployment, configuration, and management of workstations and end-user devices.

· Create and enforce policies to ensure consistency and security across all devices.

· Utilize tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for device management.

Operational Practices

· Develop and document operational processes and procedures.

· Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection and disaster recovery.

· Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal performance and security of IT systems.

Support and Troubleshooting

· Provide second and third-level support for IT infrastructure issues.

· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.

· Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues and improve overall system performance.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or 8 years of relevant experience.

· 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on security.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and on-premise server environments, specifically Hyper-V.

· Experience with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Graph, Python, etc.).

· Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).

· Proficient in network and system security practices.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Strong communication and documentation skills.

· Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

· Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate, CISSP, or equivalent.

· Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) or other device management platforms.

· Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services (Azure, AWS).

Work Environment

· This role is based in Janesville Wisconsin

· Occasional on-call support is required.

· Light Travel to company locations.
