Davis Wright Tremaine is Hiring a Remote Document Automation Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Document Automation Specialist to join our team in our Seattle, Bellevue, Portland, Anchorage, Los Angeles, Culver City, San Francsico, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, or Richmond offices.
This position offers the flexibility to be fully remote while working within reasonable commuting distance from any of our offices.
The position will be part of a team of regular and contracted document automation specialists focusing on a blend of work streams for the firm’s largest clients. This requires understanding the client’s specific needs and requirements, and tailoring the document automation process to meet these needs. The Document Automation Specialist must balance customer deference with quality control including complex document coding, vendor and release management, QA testing, and the development of in-person training and self-service materials. The Document Automation Specialist will assume the lead role of the document automation team in the absence of the Supervisor and will become a trusted advisor to the client by immersing themselves in client tools, processes, and culture, assisting with the process of engaging with the firm when required. This position will also assume responsibility for internal document automation projects involving Contract Express and other Knowledge Management projects that may require additional resources. This position offers the opportunity to grow a portfolio of cutting-edge client projects, and the chance to fundamentally shape legal service delivery.
At Davis Wright Tremaine, you will find challenging assignments, opportunities for professional growth and community involvement, and a culture of inclusion. DWT fosters inclusiveness and authenticity. Regardless of position, everyone here has a voice and the support is unparalleled.
On a typical day you will:
  • Assist in managing the team to deliver urgent deadline-driven work product
  • Create quality controls for the template drafting process
  • Rapidly deliver highly complex contract templates as an individual contributor
  • Troubleshoot and help triage issues reported by users
  • Provide template authoring training on document automation software to firm members and clients
  • Organically build the team as the program grows
  • Work with the Program Manager to develop, track, meet and report out revenue and cost objectives, MVE information to client and key performance indicators

Join us if you have:

  • 3 years of technology systems and project management experience
  • Client-focused orientation that balances customer deference with quality control
  • A passion for troubleshooting and reaching resolutions with technical issues
  • Ability to pivot easily between team projects and being an individual contributor
  • Ability to prioritize objectives and focus effort
  • Honest, energetic, and optimistic personality
  • Experience working with legal technology and/or within a large law firm preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with document automation software and eagerness to learn new tools
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters Contract Express, XpressDocs, or HotDocs a plus
  • Ability to occasionally work extended hours on deadline-driven projects
