Minimum Skills/Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or its equivalency. Post-secondary training in trade is desirable.
Certificate or diploma from a trade school or apprenticeship program is desirable.
Above average mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills.
Possess knowledge of Maintenance Department operations.
Candidate should be familiar with buildings and equipment such as boilers, chillers, pumps, piping, electrical wiring, and HVAC components.
Familiar with Building Controls is desirable.
Holds or is qualified to obtain a pesticide application license.
Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Be able to climb extension ladders, step-ladders, roof ladders, scaffolding and building steps.
Be able to work outside during all seasons and weather conditions.
Possess effective communication skills, including reading, writing, and oral directions.
Be able to drive maintenance equipment, trucks, vans, tractors, forklift, high lift, etc.
Possess effective computer skills.
Maintain the care and security of tools, equipment and facilities.
Become familiar with Occupation Safety and Health Codes and Standards as they pertain to the different phases of work, including personal protective equipment, lock out/tagout, ladder safety, vehicle and equipment operator training/haz/com, flammable materials, etc. and is responsible for Safety Data Sheet verification. Knowledge of building codes required.
Assume other duties as directed by the Facilities Supervisor, Maintenance Department.
