CLASSIFICATION: Paraprofessional – Study Hall Monitor
LOCATION: Weisenborn Junior High School
SALARY RANGE: $17.51 - $23.65 Per Hour
LENGTH OF WORK DAY: 7 Hours Per Day
LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 186 Days

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position requires:
Maintains order in the study hall which allows for students to study with minimum disruption. Develops and explains to students the rules for operation of study hall. Develops techniques and procedures for preventing and dealing with inappropriate behavior which tends to minimize the effective operation of study hall and minimizes referrals to principals. Takes initiative to strictly enforce rules and regulations for both study hall and school in general. Ensures that procedures relative to tardies, passes, admit slips, etc. be carefully explained to students and strictly enforced. Keeps accurate and up-to-date written records of pupil attendance. Assigns students to specific seating arrangements and keeps up-to-date seating chart. Review plans for the operation of the study hall with the building principal/assistant principal at the start of each semester. Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Applicants must hold a high school diploma. It is the goal of Huber Heights City Schools to employ and maintain Highly Qualified paraprofessionals. Current employees will be encouraged to participate in district provided training and receive assistance to meet the Highly Qualified criteria as defined by No Child Left Behind. Both current and new employees must meet the Highly Qualified criteria as a condition of employment in any Federal designated Title One Building.
