Dayton Magazine, Main Street United is Hiring a Remote Advertising Account Executive

You have hit the mark! If you are reading this, then you most likely are ready to build.

We seek an Account Executive for Dayton Magazine (www.thedaytonmagazine.com), its digital platform, along with the other offerings of Main Street United (www.mainstreet-united.com) including community-based custom publishing. You will partner with Main Street United to build for yourself a territory-oriented business with a focus on marketing and content.

A little more about us. Cincy, NKY, Ohio Business, Dayton, Midwestern Traveler, and Emergent Defense Magazines are the leading media platforms serving the Midwest. Dayton Media Company is a founding member of Main Street United Media Companies, which is a local, veteran, and family-owned venture providing for Account Executives the ability to reach their utmost potential and fulfillment while furthering the opportunities and local connections for those they serve. We utilize a model of print, digital, and custom publishing to afford our account executives the greatest ability to meet the needs of their clientele.

Through the magazines, our digital platforms, and events we connect great businesses to their ideal clients in the region. Our directors embolden leaders, connect readers, and reinforce a sense of community amongst all stakeholders as they build lasting relationships with local businesses.

You will build an all-purpose marketing and media business and will own a territory. We are opening up this new territory as Dayton Magazine grows as a print and digital platform.

This role will earn compensation primarily by commissions, along with bonuses connected to your outbound efforts. Commissions are 22%, and going as high as 30%. Additional bonuses are to be allocated weekly based on results and measured outbounds within our CRM (Salesforce) and phone system. Pre-approved travel expenses are also included.

What We Are Looking For:

The Account Executives are driven sales professionals who are team players and passionate about making a positive impact through their work. They must be comfortable with making 20 touches to prospective clients daily, and frequently meeting with clients and staff over Zoom. We seek those interested to take on more control of their future, and whom appreciate creating their own room to grow.

Account Executives must work in partnership with Eric Harmon (Owner), Main Street Media Company, other Regional Publishers, and other sellers in growing their businesses, and corresponding Profit Center Leaders that will provide all services from Sales Support, Editorial, Design, Event Coordination, Circulation, HR, and all other back office support.

The right candidate will bring a strong sales stamina and old-school work ethic every single day. This person must be comfortable in front of an audience, and carry evident responsibility for revenues in the business they create. You must be someone comfortable making your own decisions as you will be afforded the freedom to build a more satisfying career.

-Be involved with visitor bureaus, chamber organizations, networking

-Must be comfortable displaying at conferences (travel expenses paid for)

- Demonstrate company values and be a positive supporter of all staff and departments

This is a partnership, and your shot at upward mobility, while significantly limiting your risk as compared to starting and running your own business. We will utilize our Territory Director Manual, and within are the guidelines for success that are mandatory for the partnership to work. We also have an in-house training staff prepared to work with you consistently to achieve your goals.

The first three months require an inside-selling role to afford you to learn our methods and products, but also for you to demonstrate your business generation efforts in cooperation with others. Most work is in home remote. Most travel is day travel, or otherwise connected to prescheduled conferences.
