SUMMARY Inspection of parts, components and materials produced by DPG and subcontractors/vendors by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support production in various means that are necessary to continually improve both quality and efficiency. Maintain and file travelers, data entry, conduct final product audits/inspections, perform first piece inspections, assist in quality related projects, process NCPR’s, conduct machine audits, produce nameplates accurately and deliver them to the appropriate locations. Inspect Welds as required. Conduct final product audit/inspections. Assist in identifying and resolving supplier quality issues. Responsibilities include continual effort to improve the overall quality of the product through observations and communicating the improvement ideas to appropriate supervision. Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. The individual must be able to read and understand written work instruction, drawings and other forms of documented instruction. The individual must be able to understand verbal instructions concerning methods needed in completing the tasks assigned. Qualifications include the ability to make decisive and accurate decisions based on observation that pertain to the acceptance of product to a known standard. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent and 2-4years of related experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. SKILLS Ability to use measurement tools: scale, tape rule, caliper, height gage, and thread gages. Ability to read and understand print dimensions and tolerances. Demonstrate comfort level with computer skills and various computer programs, especially Microsoft Office. Ability to effectively use the on-line documentation system. Ability to read and understand Quality System procedures, work instructions and inspection forms. Ability to learn how to perform final inspection on finished resistors. Ability to recognize poor quality MIG welds. Recognize poor quality tear tests. Ability to learn how to tag and segregate nonconforming material. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers, and coworkers. Must be self-motivated with strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. Adaptable with the ability to switch tasks based upon shifting priorities. Good listening skills with the ability to receive information effectively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The job, however, carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
