Job Summary

As a High Skilled CNC Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple CNC Lathes to produce high-quality precision parts. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of machining experience, and the ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift with training for product knowledge provided on 1st shift. Strong CNC programming and machining skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machining techniques
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Optimize Set up and operation of CNC Lathes to produce to standard
  • Strong Set up skills are a must as we are a High mix/Low volume production shop
  • Good multi-tasker to achieve optimum levels of throughput
  • Collaborate with colleagues to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning and longevity
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process
  • Monitor machine performance to maintain quality and productivity
  • Comply with all safety regulations and ensure a clean and organized work area
  • Effective communicate with team members, engineers, and managers

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Moderate math skills, including geometry
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
  • Above average knowledge of cutting tool advancements
  • Familiarity with a wide range of tool steels, cutting tools, and metrology
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good multi-tasker to achieve optimum throughput

Experience/Education:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Background in a manufacturing environment a plus, but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in machining with a focus on CNC operations
