JOB SUMMARY

The position is responsible to perform the equipment operation functions related to highway drainage and repair as assigned in the Fort Myers, FL area

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• • Operate various forms of heavy highway equipment
  • Perform highway Drainage and Drainage Maintenance activities
  • With equipment cleans and grades ditches, drainage structures, slopes
  • Repair work including, but not limited to, repair of fences, sign repair, and other highway activities
  • Use all equipment safely

TECHNICAL 

• • Understand proper traffic control procedures 
  • Learn proper operations of all equipment you are to operate; tractor, mowing equipment, etc. Understand company’s safety manual and understand what is expected of you by the company and the customer
  • Participate in training programs made available by the company
  • Learn how to fix and do preventative maintenance for common breakdowns (replacing or cleaning air filters, fixing belts, etc.)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• • 18 years of age or older
  • Class A CDL required
  • Must possess strong equipment operations skills
  • Must have transportation to and from Company office
  • Be able to lift fifty to sixty pounds (50 - 60lbs.)
  • Be able to comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy
  • Be able to work overtime, nights and weekends
  • Experience operating motor grader, backhoe/loader, skid steer and dump truck
  • Working knowledge of trackhoe with fecon head attachment
  • Highway maintenance or construction skills are preferred
  • Good math skills and interpersonal skills are required
