DC Global Talent Inc. is Hiring a Sous Chef Near Miami, FL

We are seeking a dynamic and talented Sous Chef to join our luxury property located in a stunning Caribbean setting. The ideal candidate will possess a solid knowledge of vegan cooking and have the ability to host engaging cooking classes. Experience in private cheffing is a plus, as is prior work in the Caribbean or remote islands. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will assist in managing the kitchen and ensuring the delivery of high-quality culinary experiences. Flexibility, creativity, and a positive personality are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Host cooking classes for guests, showcasing culinary skills and knowledge, with a focus on vegan cooking.
  • Step into a private cheffing role as needed, providing personalized culinary experiences for guests.
  • Maintain a presence in the central kitchen when not hosting cooking classes, contributing to daily kitchen tasks and meal preparation.
  • Develop and prepare a variety of dishes, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met, including vegan options.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to design and implement innovative menus, keeping up with industry trends.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure cost-effective kitchen operations.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team atmosphere, assisting with the training and development of junior staff members.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in handling various kitchen tasks and challenges.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a five-star or luxury property.
  • Strong knowledge of vegan cooking and culinary techniques.
  • Experience in hosting cooking classes and private cheffing.
  • Previous experience in the Caribbean or a remote island setting is advantageous.
  • Highly creative, flexible, and adaptable
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • No ego, with a positive and approachable personality.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Young, energetic, and eager to contribute to a high-end culinary team.
