Based in Washington, DC, Easterly Government Properties, Inc. (“Easterly” or the “Company”) is a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) focused primarily on the acquisition, development and management of Class A commercial properties that are leased to U.S. Government agencies.
Description
Easterly’s Asset Management team is seeking an Analyst to provide analytical support through research, data collection and data management of information for the organization. The candidate will primarily report to the Head of Engineering & Project Delivery but with oversight from the Chief Asset Officer. The candidate will improve the way the Company manages and utilizes data and information to streamline operational performance. Additionally, the candidate will lead efforts to harness the Company’s systems and underlying data to ensure the Company is fulfilling its various requirements as an employer and federal contractor.
The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter who is highly organized, technically proficient, and data-savvy with an intellectual curiosity and a drive for constant improvement. The candidate must be comfortable with immediately taking ownership of tasks and contributing ideas for how to best structure work projects. The candidate must be capable of executing projects and tasks with minimal oversight. The position requires strong time management skills, a commitment to meeting deadlines, and an ability to work well with a variety of people at different levels within and outside Easterly’s organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work Order System:
    • Facilitate the migration of Easterly’s portfolio to the Company’s selected work order system (IMPAK)
      • Aggregate and evaluate equipment lists and preventative maintenance schedules, distribute tenant communications regarding usage of IMPAK, and data retrieval and review
    • Serve as the company’s account representative for technical matters
    • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for end users
    • Conduct analyses on use and issues to glean overarching observations on individual asset and portfolio performance
  • Capital Planning:
    • Work with the Head of Engineering and Project Delivery to create the portfolio 5-year Capital Plan
    • Track team utilization of the Company’s selected capital planning software (Yardi) in performance of annual execution of the Capital Plan
    • Prepare scenario analyses for dynamic changes to the Capital Plan
    • Assist with capital investment portion of the annual Budget Formation process
  • Reporting & Data Analysis:
    • Maintain portfolio data and statistics
    • Develop and prepare ad hoc reports on a variety of inter-related issue that affect building performance, energy consumption, and capital investment
    • Maintain database of vendors and analyze vendor costs and performance
    • Work with the Head of Asset Management Operations to design and maintain lease compliance reports and submissions
    • Assist with various ad hoc requests related to the administration of the Company’s portfolio of properties
    • Prepare summary reports and slides for senior management use
    • Prepare maps and visual aids
  • General operational support of the Asset Management team to improve efficiency and achieve team goals
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ applicable experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, computer science or a related field
  • Prior knowledge of commercial real estate building systems and operations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a tenacity toward meeting deadlines, a strong sense of urgency and good self-management discipline
  • Ability to function in a team-oriented setting and respond well to constructive criticism
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to establish and sustain relationships with prospects, partners, and existing clients
  • Strong ethical character and soft skills to interact as a part of a high-performing team.
  • Familiarity with maintaining databases for tracking and reporting purposes
