Role Description:

The Specialist II, Learning & Development, will work within the Authority’s People and Talent area, supporting the Learning and Development function. The position will be responsible for the administrative processes, functions and activities of Learning and Development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with Program Managers to develop course content.
  • Assists in developing, revising and implementing HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Builds, loads and maintains events and sessions within the enterprise performance management system and the LMS application.
  • Assists with training for New Employee Orientation.
  • Assists with Talent Acquisition (Recruiting) administration when needed.
  • Conducts Research, benchmarking.
  • Assists with the scheduling of training sessions and booking/notifying all relevant parties.
  • Assists in training course set-up/clean-up before and/or after a training event.
  • Sends out course evaluation (feedback) questionnaires following training courses and compiling / communicating feedback to the Manager, Learning and Development.
  • Tracking and reporting of employee’s training attendance.
  • Keeps training records and files up to date, filing forms.
  • Prints training support materials/handouts for training courses and assists with the creation or formatting of these where relevant.
  • Runs standard and custom training reports in LMS software as required.
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring all training rooms/venues, equipment, catering arrangements, and other requirements are booked or canceled in advance.
  • Maintains and updates training calendar.
  • Assists with updating standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties and projects at the direction of the immediate supervisor.

Key Working Relationships: Interacts with co-workers in the Department and throughout the Authority, representatives from other public and private organizations, vendors, agencies, and other representatives from surrounding jurisdictions.

Required Experience:

Three (3) years of progressive experience related to providing administrative services for an organization: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field from an accredited university or college.
