You will be responsible for handling all accounting functions and providing support in human resources functions to several production brands that scale across several states, such as, Indiana, Kansas, Illinois, and Kentucky.

Main office can either be in Westfield IN or Indianapolis, IN and occasional travel will be required to the other states, giving you the chance to see our operations in action, and further connect with our teams, and experience different aspects of the farming industry firsthand.

Production Brands this position supports:

• Anna Evergreen: Located in Cobden, Illinois
• Utopian Plants Kansas: Located in Olathe, Kansas
• Utopian Plants Indiana: Located in Westfield, Indiana
• Valley Hill: Located in Springfield, Kentucky

Hourly Rate: In lieu of experience, $24-$28/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable Ambassador: Develop relationships with production clients to ensure prompt payment. Responsible for accurately recording customer payments, reconciling accounts, sending invoices, sending statements, and providing other customer communications
• General Accounting: Perform critical accounting activities and administrative tasks including end of day reconciliations, daily deposits, and processing of accounts payable invoices. Process inbound and outbound department communications. Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain accounting files
• Human Resource Administrator: Shared responsibility for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll. Responsible for establishing and maintaining employee records. Shared responsibility for onboarding and offboarding employees

Essential Duties:

• Record cash receipts and process daily bank deposits
• Balance end of day transactions for three locations
• Maintain internal human resource reports and charts
• Maintain sales tax exemption certificates and monitor sales tax collected from customers
• Input accounts payable vouchers and accurately process vendor invoices for payment
• Shared responsibility for onboarding and offboarding employees
• Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
• Maintain vendor W-9 forms

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain accounting records and files
• Perform business office functions as needed
• Accounting and human resource projects
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Excellent Microsoft Office skills

• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced and quickly changing environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: 1-2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience and human resources experience
• Preferred: 1-2 years' experience in Accounting Software, such as QuickBooks
• Preferred: 1-2 years payroll experience in ADP Payroll
• Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish & English)
