SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for source identification, qualification, and development of new and existing sources of supply. In addition, this position is responsible for USMCA compliance, planning, purchase and delivery of production materials for domestic and international suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Logistics Responsibilities

• Plan and execute domestic and international freight deliveries to multiple locations.
• Plan, coordinate and track international shipments by working with suppliers, freight forwarders and customs brokers.
• Request, gather and file Country of Origin and USMCA forms as required.
• Work with suppliers to assign Harmonized Tariff Codes for purchased components.
• Work with the logistics team to ensure compliance with USMCA requirements and international trade laws.

Sourcing Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development of annual supplier improvement plans with key suppliers and within key commodities.
• Develop and execute cost reduction programs in support of corporate cost reduction goals.
• Represent the Purchasing department on new product development teams.
• Responsible for the purchase of goods and services to ensure a continual supply of materials to the plant locations through the successful use of materials planning techniques, (MRP).
• Ensure the MRP planning parameters are accurate and kept up to date.
• Perform day to day purchase activities including but not limited to processing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, obtaining vendor confirmations, verifying promise dates, and confirming product delivery for various facilities domestically and internationally.
• Issue purchase orders and expedite all required orders.
• Review requisitions and obtain required information to make successful and efficient purchases.
• Negotiate with vendors to ensure best pricing and delivery, and support resolution of performance and delivery issues.
• Work with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve invoice disputes.
• Onboard new suppliers by obtaining the necessary financial and quality system information and forwarding as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• HS degree or equivalent required. Higher education (Assoc/Bachelor’s degree) preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of previous Supply Chain experience is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, prioritize, and execute work activities.
• Must be effective at resolving problems and handling stressful situations professionally.
• Must possess excellent phone and computer skills.
• Must be detail-oriented.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

APICS and /or CPM Certification a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibility.

FLSA CLASSIFICATION/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a salary-exempt position that is not eligible for overtime.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel to corporate manufacturing facilities and suppliers is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is moderately sedentary with the majority of the work done on a computer in an office environment. Regular communication via e-mail and phone is necessary.

SAFETY

Safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE may be required in production areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment. The position may occasionally require exposure to the production areas.

REASONING ABILITY

Sound judgment and decision-making skills are necessary. Must be able to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks and maintain timelines for completion.
