Job Description
- Work as part of an Agile software development team to implement all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Analyze user stories to develop and execute comprehensive test cases and automation coverage.
- Plan and ensure design, creation and performance of automated and manual testing for our apps.
- Plan and ensure the design, creation and performance of effective load, performance and stress testing activities.
- Help to create and implement automated UI and API test framework for DDI applications.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy a continuous integration and deployment pipeline of tests.
- Develop and implement metrics for effective load, performance, and stress testing activities and oversee the analysis of the results.
- Develop and implement standards to ensure proper application security testing is done as part of the development process.
- Troubleshoot and help resolve technical problems and functional questions related to the software, partnering as needed with project and product managers, or any other DDI personnel required.
- Ensure that the infrastructure changes are promoted up the stack in a quality manner and perform necessary testing to ensure no adverse impact to production.
- Coordinate cross-team initiatives. Cover multiple teams or multiple initiatives as needed.
- Stay abreast of key developments within the software industry, actively seek learning opportunities and apply acquired knowledge to the job.
- Review TE automation code while coaching test engineers on engineering best practices and coding quality standards.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other Test Engineers to help them grow their skills. Is generous with their time and knowledge, and flags successes and concerns to manager.
- Provide formal feedback to Managers on the technical strengths and weaknesses of other Test Engineers. Assumes a leadership role on their projects and teams. Seeks out new processes, techniques and tools, tries them out and provides feedback, recommending what to incorporate into our shared process.
- Contributes not only to the priorities they work on, but to DDI Product Development and DDI as a whole. Identifies and shepherds new projects, gains buy-in and collaborates with other disciplines and departments. Spreads expert thinking and enthusiasm across the organization and beyond — whether giving presentations, participating in innovation weeks or special projects, or other communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or relevant work experience.
- Testing experience with various software testing methodologies including – unit, integrations, functional, manual, load and regression testing.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with automation framework testing of web apps, mobile apps. APIs using Selenium.
- Experience with JavaScript and related testing frameworks like Protractor.
- Familiarity with industry standard CI and testing tools.
- Experience with Security testing a plus.
- Ability to triage issues, react well to change, work with teams and work on multiple products or projects.
- Expert knowledge of the quality assurance process throughout the entire QA lifecycle.
- Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and distributed teams.
- Strategic thinker and a problem solver, layer questions and really understand the problem at hand, understand the business and key drivers for success
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment and does what it takes to deliver results.
- Ability to identify, diagnose and resolve problems within software applications.
- Maintain a stable performance under pressure and/or in the face of ambiguity.
- Must enjoy influencing others by creating a participative environment, taking responsibility for the success of working on complex projects.
- Work with limited to no oversight.
- Excel in teamwork, critical thinking, collaboration, adaptability, problem analysis, initiative, communication skills, risk taking and planning and organizing.
Variable Pay: 10% of Salary
