POSITION SUMMARY – Maintain and repair all specialty equipment related to all coating processes. Perform Preventative and Predictive Maintenance on all coating process equipment. Rebuild and repair spray guns, pumps, dryers and other equipment on coating lines. May act as a lead person on maintenance or repair jobs. Typically expected to solve most work problems independently and to make recommendations to supervisory personnel regarding those matters which involve policy decisions, technical questions, and unusual problems. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. WORK ENVIRONMENT— Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to set up and adjust all equipment related to all companies coating processesRead and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceDiagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust equipment accordinglyRebuild and repair pumps, application guns and other specialized equipment Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during productionPerform regular preventive/predictive maintenance on all specialty equipmentMaintain, repair and improve systems to achieve optimum performanceOrder and maintain a parts inventory for machines dedicated to coating processes Attend meetings and advise management on coating processesLearn and understand all chemicals used in the coatings processes Monitor effects coating processes have on waste water treatment Know the different settings of the machines for different materials to make changesUnderstand, maintain, and operate mechanical functions of equipment in coating areaAssist/Advise Automation and Maintenance Technicians when working in coating areasWork with Quality Control to assure proper function of coating machineryTrain Automation, Maintenance Technicians and Painters on coating processesAbility to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customersSupport the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findingsSKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, manuals, work orders, and control plansAbility to utilize a variety of hand tools and equipmentAbility to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, JLG liftsAbility to communicate and follow oral and written directionsAbility to work independently with little directionAbility to prioritize and meet deadlinesAbility to run all equipment necessaryMust be quality driven and have good housekeeping habitsEstablish, maintain, and foster cooperative working relations with others POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferredExperience: Two years related experience preferred; Must be able to be trained on the jobComputer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using OutlookCertificates & Licenses: Must pass written and driving test for forklift certificationOther Requirements: Must be fitted for a respirator and pass a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and must be willing to travel out of state for job specific training.
