POSITION SUMMARY — Plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. At the same time, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all other departments in order to meet production goals. WORK ENVIRONMENT —Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEnforce safety and sanitation regulationsDirect and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods such as inspectors, machine setters, and fabricatorsConfer with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and shiftsInspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctionsObserve work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standardsConduct employee training in work or equipment operations and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workersInterpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workersTrack attendance and hours workedRead and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirement and to evaluate current production estimates and outputsMaintain operations data including production and cost records, and prepare management reports of production resultsConfer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or issuesSet up and adjust machines and equipmentRecommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiencyRecommend or execute personnel actions, such as hires, evaluations, and promotionsCalculate labor and equipment requirements and production specifications, using standard formulasPlan and develop new production processesEnsure production is meeting quality standardsAbility to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customersMaintain and support the environmental policy with deployment, governance of the policy and processes, evaluation and taking action for process improvementSKILLS & ABILITIESExperience in using various types of manufacturing machinery Proficient computer skills Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills Adequate knowledge of business and management principles, budgeting, resources allocation, human resourcesSelf-motivated with a results driven approach POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred; Associate’s Degree would be an advantageExperience: Two to four years of manufacturing/management experienceComputer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient with MS Office and MRP systemsCertificates & Licenses: Other Requirements: Willing and able to work a flexible schedule
