Deer Valley Resort is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, in the historic mining town of Park City which has evolved into an exciting and diverse mountain ski town. PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide general maintenance and emergency repairs to all Deer Valley lifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operating a chairlift
Shoveling snow
Checking lift tickets
Crowd control in lift mazes
Picking up trash on the mountain
Maintain clean work spaces including washing windows, emptying trash and vacuuming
See the Maintenance Shop area and equipment are maintained in clean, safe, orderly state
Assist in planning and organizing for future improvements and expansions
Assist in training of Lift Maintenance Technician–I and Lift Maintenance Technician Trainee
Assist in safety training and records of same
Assist in morning organizing and planning to ensure the most economical use of time
Assist in preparing and meeting budgetary guidelines
Assist in development and implementation of operational policies
Basic Knowledge of: Electrical AC - DC circuit, DC power supplies and batteries, DC motor theory and S.C.R. drive systems
At least 18 years old
Working knowledge of lift operations
Accept direction and instruction readily
Advanced skiing ability
Ability to work in extreme adverse conditions
Be at ease working at heights
Ability to carry heavy equipment in mountainous areas
Ability to maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward our guests at all times
Take responsibility for the care and security of Deer Valley equipment
Ability to work effectively with other lift technicians and other Deer Valley staff
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF:
All pertinent rules and regulations
Interpretation of blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Operational requirements and problems
Use of V.O.M. trouble shooting control system
Read and understand A.N.S.I. B77 codes and technical manuals.
Perform all routine mechanical inspections on lifts
Assist in all trouble shooting and repair
Assist in training of lift operators and lift maintenance technicians trainees
Assist other departments in Ski Operations
Start and perform daily inspections on lifts in winter
Understand and update required records
Cleaning and upkeep of lifts, tools and shop area
Operate a snowmobile in a safe manner
WORK CONDITIONS:
You must be prepared to perform assigned tasks in bad weather, high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, extremely warm or cold weather.

Goggles, sunglasses, gloves (all in good repair, neutral styles and colors, complimentary to the uniform, we suggest that you ask for a clarification if you have any questions as to this requirement
Ski equipment (in good condition with a current binding release certification, you should be aware that you are responsible for any damage to your ski equipment while at work.)
Pac-type boot- black or brown in color, in good repair and clean
Personal clothing (long underwear, sweaters, etc. . .) as long as that personal clothing is concealed by the uniform.
