Deer Valley Resort is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, in the historic mining town of Park City which has evolved into an exciting and diverse mountain ski town. PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide general maintenance and emergency repairs to all Deer Valley lifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This list presents some of the tasks you may be asked to perform, but it is not intended to represent all of the tasks. Circumstances will dictate activities involved in your workday. For example, you may be asked to fill in for a lift operator for part of or all of the workday.
Operate a chairlift
Perform daily startup and periodic inspections of lifts in winter and summer
Assist in performing after-hours repairs
Maintain clean and safe workspaces
Participate in daily morning briefings
Participate in safety and equipment training
Ensure timely and accurate completion of required records and logs
Assist other Mountain Operations departments
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 18 years old
Provide personal basic hand and electrical tools
Enjoy outdoor work in all conditions, including adverse weather
Ability to climb lift stairs and ladders
Comfortable working at heights
Accept direction and instruction readily
Advanced skiing ability
Ability to lift and position heavy components 50 pounds or greater, in mountainous terrain as required
Ability to maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward our guests at all times
Take responsibility for the care and security of Deer Valley equipment
Ability to work effectively with other lift technicians and other Deer Valley staff
Basic knowledge of:
Lift theory, operation, and practice
Operational requirements and problems
Mechanical, electro-mechanical, and hydraulic systems
Electrical AC/DC circuits, DC power supplies and batteries, DC motor theory
Interpretation of technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
All applicable rules, regulations, and governing codes including ANSI B77
Troubleshooting and repair techniques
Use of DMM in trouble shooting electrical circuits
Routine mechanical inspections on lifts
Safe operation of snowmobiles and other company equipment
WORK CONDITIONS:
You must be prepared to perform assigned tasks in bad weather, high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremes in temperature. You must arrange for transportation to and from work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time, which can vary. As you arrange your transportation, please keep in mind you will often be required to drive on hilly, snow-packed, and icy road surfaces.

Goggles, sunglasses, gloves (all in good repair, neutral styles and colors, complimentary to the uniform, we suggest that you ask for a clarification if you have any questions as to this requirement
Ski equipment (in good condition with a current binding release certification; you should be aware that you are responsible for any damage to your ski equipment while at work)
Seasonally-appropriate, sturdy footwear
Personal clothing (long underwear, layers, etc. . .) as long as that personal clothing is concealed by the uniform
