Summary:

This position will be responsible for feed tax compliance and related accounting requirements at Green Plains. As a member of the tax team this position will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the feed tax process including the preparation of tax returns and supporting workpapers, filing and making the required payments, preparing account reconciliations, and researching tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Compiling and analyzing general ledger and sales activity to prepare supporting workpapers and documentation for animal feed taxes.
• Prepare and file feed tax returns.
• Researching the tax treatment of transactions or potential transactions.
• Researching and responding to notices from State tax authorities.
• Maintaining customer documents and system settings.
• Work with other departments to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Software with emphasis on Excel (including XLOOKUP, SUMIF, SUMIFS and VLOOKUP statements). Preparing PDF documents
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Critical thinking and decision-making skills and the ability to use logic and reasoning to solve problems in an everchanging environment.
• Ability to work with change, urgency and deadlines.
