The Logistics Analyst is responsible for maintaining and enhancing logistics functions across 3-5 production facilities, managing products such as Ethanol, Corn Oil, and Distillers Grains. This role supports the trade teams in making optimal financial decisions by ensuring efficient logistics operations. Key responsibilities include analyzing rail fleet and truck freight data to identify efficiencies. Each facility manages between 200-500 railcars and processes over 500 trucks monthly. Logistics Analysts are also empowered to visit Green Plains production facilities to understand daily operations and collaborate with plant employees to drive process improvements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist the Transportation Manager, Vice President of Logistics, and trade team by providing timely updates on railcar positions, schedules, and other essential information.
• Collaborate with rail and truck vendors to schedule deliveries from production facilities, including forecasting, demand planning, and shipment execution.
• Collect and analyze data related to leased fleet monitoring, bad order cars, and shop cars, and communicate findings to the Rail Logistics Manager.
• Engage with carriers to secure the best possible freight rates through quarterly RFPs or spot requests.
• Update plant and trade teams on rail equipment and product availability.
• Bill and track loaded shipments of railcars and trucks to ensure they are shipped under favorable market conditions.
• Liaise with truck lines and terminals regarding pending arrivals, projected availability, railcar placement, and release; create necessary documentation.
• Dispatch, coordinate and communicate terminal activities to Logistics and trade team
• Analyze logistics data to make informed, data-driven decisions.
• Investigate market data and present findings to internal departments.

Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• One to two years of experience in logistics, customer service, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Understanding of railroad systems and trucking operations is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office products (Windows environment).
• Ability to perform effectively in time-sensitive, high-pressure situations
• Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (FRA, TTB, and state regulations).
