Default Company is Hiring an Executive Pastry Chef Near Pray, MT

  • Understands and upholds Chico’s Mission, Employment Guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Understands and follows all management policies and promotes Chico culture.
  • Prepares and ensures the production of all bakery goods according to established recipes.
  • Reviews production records daily (house count report, function sheets, special order requests) to determine variety and quantity of baked goods needed; writes the bakery production list and is responsible for the completion of production needs and records.
  • Meets monthly with Executive Chef to review operations and plan for upcoming workload. 
  • Ensures that a printed, complete and updated recipe book is on file in the bakery, and provides copies for the F&B Director, Executive Chef, and the General Manager.
  • Collaborates with Executive Chef on recipe development and specials. Experiments on new products and works on improvement of existing recipes. 
  • Recommends changes in material or procedures to improve quality, productivity or to reduce costs and changes in work schedule to increase efficiency.
  • Is responsible for pricing and production of all wedding cakes and event special orders. Works with sales staff and guests as needed, by meeting with guests or providing samples or coordinating cake tastings.
  • Is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas at all times. Including food storage areas, line, prep areas, walk-in, reach-in, freezer, dish area, dry storage area, and glass room. 
  • Responsible for maintaining supplies for the bakery; including ingredients, cake decorating supplies, and equipment needs.
  • Instruct, train, and functionally supervise the activities of Bakers or other employees performing related work.
  • Works “shoulder to shoulder” with all directly supervised employees.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation and food-safe handling standards.
  • Is responsible for managing performance of staff in an ongoing, consistent manner. Addresses conflicts and discipline privately. Uses proper documentation.
  • Assigns and oversees detailed training plan (department orientation) for all new Bakery Staff.
  • Is responsible for monitoring job satisfaction and individual development of staff.
  • Participates in monthly departmental huddles.
  • Observes “time-off” requests protocol and vacation approval guidelines.
  • Attends weekly Food and Beverage meetings (10:30am every Tuesday).
  • Participates in Chico’s Passport program, ensuring all staff attend necessary classes and complete Passports in the prescribed time frame.
  • Is responsible for writing weekly labor schedules using Orbital Shift. Schedules to be published 2 weeks out.
  • Is responsible for upholding guidelines for self and staff in regards to dress code and personal hygiene.
