CDL- A Construction Driver

Summary: SPARTAN PAVING, INC. is seeking candidates for the 2022 construction season. All work is local, home every night. Excellent hours. Most equipment is less than 5 years old and in excellent condition. We need to following specialties:

• Semi-truck drivers holding CDL-A with air brakes for single dump trailer operations.
• Water truck driver holding CDL-A/B with tanker endorsement.
• Tack truck driver holding CDL-A/B with tanker endorsement.
• Lowboy driver holding CDL-A with experience loading/unloading heavy equipment.
• Service truck driver holding CDL-A/B with experience loading/unloading equipment as well as tanker endorsement for water tank.

 Responsibilities:

• Operate with a priority of job safety for all persons working around the equipment, while on site and on the road.
• Reverse and position a heavy truck, without numerous attempts.
• Conduct pre/post trip inspections. Every time. No exceptions.
• Communicate with maintenance staff the needs of your truck and/or trailer. The mechanics will perform miracles for you and keep your truck 100% as long as you do not play games.

Requirements:

• Proper licensing and DOT medical examination for CDL driving is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment, paving equipment experience a plus
• Ability to operate a large heavy truck and trailer without frequently striking non-moving objects, curbs, lamp poles, etc.
• Ability to climb up to and clean dump boxes, apply release agent, etc.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Must be dependable and show up for all assigned shifts.
• We have several specialties listed here and the requirements vary for each. Additional requirements discussed in interviews.
