Job Description: The Industrial Engineer defines and measures production labor times and uses statistical methods to provide accurate shop planning. Will defines standards to effectively communicate and control the flow of materials and product. Will draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to maximize efficiency. Will utilize statistics and mathematical calculations to determine processes, requirements, and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Applies industrial engineering techniques and concepts to improve schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
· Manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and performs risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, resource allocation).
· Uses engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.
· Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, workflow, and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
· Provides support to project completion.
Qualifications:
· Must be a U.S. Citizen.
· Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance with program access.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous experience in aerospace, DoD engineering and manufacturing.
· Experience on wide body aircraft including, but not limited to, Boeing 767, 777 and 747.
Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
· 5 or more years of engineering or manufacturing experience; OR a master’s degree in STEM with 3 or more years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
· Experience with Data Analysis.
Certification Requirements:
· As required.
