About The PositionClean and maintain University assets per the standards set forth by the Manager of Custodial Operations. The Custodian might also be responsible for driving the trash truck or department van.
This is a part-time, 12-month position, reporting to the Manager of Custodial Operations. The hours/schedule will be every other weekend, 1st shift (5am - 1:30pm).
Pay rate: 17.50 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities Include
- Disposal of trash
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas
- Sweep, mop, and buff floors
- Maintain aesthetic appearance of entrance to building
- Make sure custodial closet is fully stocked and organized
- Strip and wax floors as needed
- Report facility issues to Facility Maintenance Office
- Prep resident halls for each semester
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- High School Diploma with 1 year direct and 2 years indirect experience
- Prior floor care experience
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks
- English proficiency is required
- Valid state driver's license
- Must be in sound physical condition
- Stockroom or warehouse
- High noise environment
- High dust, dirt, and grease environment
- Requires extensive safety training
- Exposure to moving machinery
- Alternative work schedule may be required
- Exposure to chemicals
- Requires protective devices
- Occasional lifting 25-50 lbs.
- Typically standing or walking
- Typically bending, crouching, stooping
