Work You’ll Do

As a Data Modeler for GES Data Management (GDM) in the GES Technology Group, you will be instrumental in shaping the data landscape for this project. Through your efforts, you will help the team to harness the power of data, driving decision-making and business growth.

  • Learn and understand various data models of GA applications.
  • Identify data fields across all GA applications that could be part of the core data domains and associate them to each individual domain.
  • Be responsible for operationalizing in tool/ technology.
  • Implementing Use Cases: You will be responsible for implementing approved use cases using relevant tools and technologies. This includes understanding the business needs that drive these use cases and ensuring they are effectively addressed through data modeling efforts.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: As a Data Modeler, you will consult and collaborate with Product Owners and Data Custodians. Your role will involve understanding their requirements and translating these into data models that support business objectives.
  • Building and Managing Data Pipelines: You will build and manage robust data pipelines to ensure the smooth flow of data across our systems. This includes managing the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes that feed into our data models.
  • Code Testing and Deployment Support: You will be responsible for unit testing your code to ensure its functionality and reliability. Furthermore, you'll provide support during the deployment phase, ensuring that your data models are successfully integrated into our production systems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
  • 10 years of proven experience as a Data Modeler or Data Architect
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Ability to travel up to 15%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained:
    • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
    • IBM Certified Data Architect - Big Data
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
    • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD)
    • Other approved relevant industry certification

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in data modeling principles, including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
  • Proficient in SQL and familiarity with other database languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools and technologies, including ETL experience.
  • Experience facilitating and creating conceptual, logical and physical data models based on input from business subject matter experts.
  • Experience with Object modeling or experience with JSON structures.
  • Proficiency in Informatica MDM suite including MDM, IDQ, EDC, and Axon is highly desirable. These tools will be integral to your role in managing and maintaining our data systems.
  • Experience in data pipeline ingestion is essential. You should be skilled in creating and managing data pipelines, ensuring efficient data flow and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Experience in rules configuration within a data modeling context. This includes setting up and managing rules that govern how data is processed within our systems.
  • Strong expertise in SQL is required. You’ll need to be comfortable writing and optimizing complex SQL queries to manipulate and analyze data
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and ETL processes.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, having the ability to communicate and ask appropriate questions of business users to translate business needs into data relationships.
  • Experience in implementing use cases based on business requirements.
  • Ability to create robust data pipelines and manage data flow.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,770 to $223,990

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
