Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant, will verify the integrity and accuracy of financial operations, safeguarding organizational assets ensuring efficient business processes. In addition to overseeing accounting activities within the Finance department, the Sr. Accountant is responsible for making sure that the organization adheres to its closing schedule. In addition, the Incumbent is also responsible for overseeing certain contracts as it relates to financial reporting, leading strategic planning for accounting policies and maintaining internal controls over financial transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  •  Prepare month-end close deliverables, including but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and payroll journal entries based on reports from Human Resources
  •  Perform monthly accruals within established time and process standards
  •  Maintain and reconcile general ledgers accounts
  •  Review intercompany receivables and payables to ensure proper reconciliations and eliminations
  •  Collaborate with external auditors on audit requests as needed
  •  Prepare and file property and sales taxes (multiple locations)
  •  Maintain the fixed asset schedule and prepare fixed asset journal entries
  •  Review employee reimbursements and credit card expense reports in SAP Concur
  •  Assist accounts receivable and accounts payables stakeholders in processing invoices and payments
  •  Prepare customer invoices, apply cash receipts, follow up on collections, reconcile customer accounts and maintain AR aging schedule
  •  Process, reconcile and resolve vendor invoices while performing 3-way matching before payments are made.
  •  Perform and review monthly cash and bank reconciliations, including T&E corporate credit card payments reconciliation
  •  Calculate sales commission and bonuses in partnership with Human Resources and Sales
  •  Proactively identify, develop, and implement process improvements to maximize efficiencies and overall scalability of accounting activities.
  •  Performs other duties or responsibilities assigned over the course of employment

Requirements

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  •  High School diploma/GED required, bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or comparable field, preferred.
  •  3 years of supervisory experience.
  •  5 years of accounts payable & accounts receivable experience.
  •  Strong computer skills using MS-Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  •  Excellent communication and detail orientation skills with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form; and to communicate in spoken English.
  •  Well-organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter that is customer-focused.
  •  Demonstrated working knowledge of Accounting Software’s/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems preferred.
  •  Maintain 1) reliable and safe transportation to other Delphon facilities or for business travel, 2) valid State-issued driver’s license, 3) proper vehicle registration, and 4) State-required minimum automobile insurance coverage requirement.
