Role and Responsibilities:

  • Drive Client Growth: Your primary responsibility will be to accelerate top-of-funnel efforts for clients by identifying opportunities, developing outbound strategies, and overseeing outbound execution to book meetings on behalf of clients. You will play a pivotal role in expanding the client’s business growth and revenue streams.
  • Consultative Approach: At Demand Inc., we believe that a consultative mindset is essential for success in this role. You will act as a trusted advisor and industry expert to our clients, deeply understanding their unique challenges and needs. By engaging in thoughtful conversations, proactively suggesting new ideas and actively listening, you will be able to tailor our AI-enabled sales development framework to address their specific pain points effectively. 
  • Strategic Thinking: We value strategic thinking as a key driver of business development success. You will not only focus on short-term wins but also develop, communicate, and execute long-term growth strategies. Your ability to identify emerging market trends, anticipate client demands, communicate effectively, and adapt our offerings accordingly will be crucial in maintaining our competitive edge.
  • Exceed Client Expectations: You will research, prospect, and engage with potential leads (on behalf of our clients) articulating their value proposition in concise outbound messaging that has one goal, get the meeting. Your consultative and strategic approach will be instrumental in piquing the interest of key decision-makers and converting prospects into booked discovery calls on our client’s calendars.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and ensure Demand Inc. remains at the cutting edge of the sales development technology landscape. Your strategic thinking will drive our positioning in the market and help us explore untapped growth areas.
  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with client leadership team(s) to develop strategic sales plans and effective go-to-market strategies. Your consultative mindset will ensure that these plans are client-centric and tailored to meet the unique needs of our diverse clientele.
  • Sales Performance Optimization: Utilize your business development background, consultative approach, and strategic thinking to refine and improve top-of-funnel acceleration. 
  • Outreach Expertise: Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience using outreach platforms is a must for this position. You will leverage these tools strategically to streamline prospecting efforts, optimize outreach experiments, and maximize productivity while maintaining a consultative focus.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including research, product, and strategy, to align efforts and ensure a seamless customer experience. Your consultative and strategic mindset will foster a collaborative environment where ideas flow freely, and innovative solutions are developed.
  • Client Management: Conduct in-depth research based on client Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) using our Demand tools. Create and maintain company and contact lists derived from the research, adhering to standard protocols. Manage multiple client inboxes and Salesloft accounts, including responding to emails, booking meetings, and scheduling sends. Develop and nurture strong relationships with key clients, acting as their trusted advisor.
  • Client Sync Calls and Kickoff Calls: Prepare documents for BDM reviewal and lead weekly client syncs with little to no guidance. Attend and actively contribute to client kickoff calls, completing messaging briefs and post-kickoff tasks.
  • Mentorship: This role is a 1-2 year transition role from player to coach. Senior Consultants are expected to demonstrate many of the manager qualities, like winning the trust and confidence of their clients, while starting to train and develop team members teaching best practices, to eventually form their own pod. Lead by example, offering guidance, recognizing progress, and being an empathetic role model.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in sales, business development, or client-facing roles.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or management experience.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced, target-driven team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, identifying business opportunities.
  • Passion for business development and strategic thinking, contributing to organizational growth.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and accommodate the needs of diverse individuals.
  • Attention to detail, multitasking capabilities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in the digital sales development stack, including Salesloft or Outreach, Office 365/Google Workspace, Teams/Slack, and expertise in managing and analyzing data in Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technology Industry Expertise: Familiarity with the technology landscape, particularly in AI and sales development, is advantageous.
  • Consultative Selling Experience: Experience in consultative selling and enterprise sales is a plus.
  • Industry experience in Tech, Finance, Healthcare, Media, and Professional Sports.
