Denso is Hiring a Manager, Engineering Near Maryville, TN

Job DescriptionDENSO is looking for an Engineering Manager in the Maryville, TN facility. This individual will be responsible for Tool and Machine Development Maryville (TMDM) Electrical and Controls Engineering team. TMDM team is mainly involved in small to large projects in Add-on-Automation, Packout Automation, as well as kaizen work for Scrap reductions, and machine modifications pertaining to Safety and Quality requirements.
The position will require some travel and there's future potential job rotation and/or additional team(s) to manage.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee machine design, modifications, automations, robotics, PLC, and Electrical and Controls engineering projects.
  • Manages the operational and personnel activities of the assigned area within the department. Analyzes workflow and provides input for process changes.
  • Maintains relationships and directly interacts with internal and external customers, suppliers and affiliates as needed towards successful completion of projects. Maintains close contact with relating team members to provide current information on evolving and stable robotic products to engineering and maintenance staff in North America.
  • Makes routine decisions that may affect the area or department. Seeks advice from and provides input to senior management in addressing higher level and non-routine issues. Participates in independent committee activities to facilitate overall work efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborates with senior management to develop goals, objectives, and measures for assigned area in light of overall department, division and organization strategy. Responsible, along with senior management, for the development of short-and long-term plans for assigned area such as developing future vision for engineering and technical groups, including expansion plans and infrastructure changes.
  • Develops and monitors the budget for assigned area. Provides input into staffing proposals.
  • Performs Human Resources activities such as hiring, firing, discipline, ensuring training of staff and completing performance evaluations. Communicates and implements change management initiatives.
  • Maintains current understanding in industry or functional trends and disseminates throughout appropriate segments of business.
  • Mentors, coaches and leads subordinates by developing performance expectations, assesses individual training needs and planning for goal attainment.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Field
  • 8 years of relevant experience
  • Prospective candidate with technical skills and experience with machine modifications, automations, robotics, PLC, Electrical drawings and diagrams, administrative duties, and good communication skills is preferred. The position will require some travel and there's future potential job rotation and/or additional team(s) to manage.
