Schedule: Monday – Friday with some nights and weekends

Organization Summary

Our mission is to provide preventive and pain-relieving services to low-income residents as well as to educate children about good oral hygiene habits.

Dental Health for Arlington Inc., “DHA” has been an essential organization in Arlington, TX for 30

years and has two parts to the organization. Our dental clinic provides low-income individuals and families low-cost dental care. Our SMILES (Sealing Molars Improves Lives of Every Student) program provides dental health education, visual oral exams, sealants, and fluoride to students in 1st through 4th grade at 40 Title I schools in Arlington.

Our organization has about 20 employees including Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Administrative staff.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director (ED) to lead our organization. The ED will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s operations, including strategic planning, fundraising, financial management, program development, staff leadership, and community engagement. This position will have 3 direct reports, Clinic Director, SMILES Director, and Finance Manager. The ED shall cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the people we serve, community leaders, government agencies, healthcare providers, and donors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for healthcare and a commitment to serving those in need.

Key Responsibilities

Interface with Board of Directors

· Responsible for scheduling meetings, preparing reports and other materials and attending board and committee meetings (occasional committee meetings may be delegated to the Clinical Director or SMILES Director)

· Updating the Board Manual annually before the beginning of the fiscal year

· Conducting orientation for new board members

· Planning and attending Board of Director retreats and other special functions

Management of Organization

· Lead and develop direct reports and staff by coaching, conducting annual performance reviews, organizing training, and managing expectations

· Support direct reports in day to day staffing, hiring, separations, and other employee relation activities

· Annually review and update all procedures, policies, and forms

· Conduct annual emergency training and protocols for medical emergencies, fire drills, tornado drills, etc.

· Ensure the organization is compliant with all applicable regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, employment, dental board, advertising rules, etc.)

· Manage website and social media

· Ensure all necessary personal forms and licenses are completed/collected and safely stored

· Oversee DHA’s cash flow, spending, employee costs, tax reporting, leases, and contracts and ensure an annual audit is conducted. The ED will partner with the management team and the Finance Committee to prepare an annual budget and to adhere to it.

Public Relations and Fundraising

· Attend community and industry events to publicize the organization’s offerings, develop relationships with key stakeholders, and fundraise.

· Lead all fundraising efforts including oversight of events like the bi-annual continuing education day, SMILES fundraiser, grant writing and submission, renewals for existing funds, and research of new funding opportunities.

· Responsible for receiving all donations and making sure timely letters of thanks are sent

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; master’s degree in related field preferred

· 3 to 5 years’ experience in non-profit management with a focus in healthcare and community service

· Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and financial management.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build strategic partnerships

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on building relationships and fostering collaboration
