Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Hygiene Assistant to join our team at DentalWorks-Cary, NC. As a Hygiene Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienists to provide quality dental care to our patients. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring patient comfort.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are ready
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by passing instruments and materials
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring models and trimming diagnostic casts
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control guidelines
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and document medical history in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow within the office
- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, anticipating the needs of the dentist and patients
- Take vital signs and record patient information as required

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
- X-ray certification required; CPR certification preferred
- Proficiency in using dental software (Eaglesoft) for scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment
- Familiarity with medical documentation and recordkeeping procedures
- Experience with dental assisting, including knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
- Basic understanding of medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Solid knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
