Denver Art Museum Inc is Hiring a Line Cook Near Denver, CO

CULINAIRE is hiring LINE COOKS to work the DAY SHIFTS in the PONTI restaurant that is located in the Denver Art Museum. The Ponti presents a locally sources and inspired menu, emphasizing vegetables, ancient grains, heirloom legumes, handmade pasta, fish and meat.

The Ponti is open for lunch and brunch mid days, with dinner Friday night only.

There is additional work available if desired to work with catering for afternoons and evenings shifts.

A Few Main Responsibilities

  • Prepares vegetables for salads by peeling, paring, coring, portioning, washing, sectioning, zesting, cutting or scoring
  • Slices meats, cheeses, vegetables and other items for salads, sandwiches, or cold platters - cuts vegetables, meats, cheese and other items for sandwiches, salads or cold platters
  • Labels and day dots all production items
  • Prepares mousse, galantines, or gelatin molds for cold platters
  • Assembles sandwiches, cold platters, cold appetizers and desserts
  • Requisition of all food products for station setup to fluctuations of business needs
  • Project food products for production needs
  • Identifies and selects cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game, fruit or vegetables for cold food production
  • Prepares garnishes for cold food plates and garnishes
  • Clean specified pieces of equipment as assigned
  • Ensure proper temperature controls in food production and service

A few qualifications and skill set

  • 2 years of cooking in a high volume kitchen
  • Food Safety Certification a plus
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude and behavior
  • Carry, lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds independently
  • Stand and Walk during the entire shift
