Sales & Service Associate I, Part-Time, Temporary

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Sales & Services team focuses on creating a welcoming environment for all Denver Art Museum visitors. We strive to build broad community support via onsite customer service, membership sales, ticket sales and call center communication. This is a temporary, part-time role (10-29 hours per week) and requires availability for weekend, evening, and holiday hours, and will start as early as October 2, 2024, and end on February 17, 2025.

This position reports to the Assistant Manager of Sales and Services in the Sales and Group Services department.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are three general components to this position:

WELCOME DESK

  • Utilize visitor service skills by checking in and assisting museum visitors in a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Act as a resource for questions relating to accessibility, ticketing, membership, collections and museum programming.
  • Sell tickets, memberships and donations through ATMS ticketing system.
  • Participate in team building sales contests in order to meet departmental goals.

PHONE CENTER

  • Provide phone support related to ticketing, membership and general museum inquiries.
  • Monitor, document and categorize visitor feedback submitted online, onsite or over the phone.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Process and reconcile memberships into Raisers Edge database.
  • Participate in donor acknowledgement and fulfillment of membership materials. according to the established schedule.
  • Consistent usage of the Racial Equity Lens in day-to-day operations
  • Yearly goals setting to support Racial Equity Roadmap initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with diverse groups of people, including visitors, staff, volunteers, and donors.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.
  • Dynamic; able and willing to be flexible if changes arise.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Spanish Language skills preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including some familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Sitting at computer stations.
  • Answering phone calls.
  • Subject to interruptions.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

Position type: This position will not be covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME-CWU.

Pay: The hiring hourly range for the position is $19-$23.75 based on experience. A .50 language differential is available for hours worked for candidates who have Spanish speaking proficiency.
