The Fire Alarm Technician repairs, tests, and troubleshoots all fire-alarm and clock equipment in order to achieve a 100% system function for life safety.

What You'll Do :
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs digital fire alarm systems.
Connects power supply wires to equipment, and connects cables and wires between equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
Diagnoses, repairs or replaces faulty electronic components in fire alarm control systems.
Conducts fire alarm system inspections with local fire department.
Communicates and coordinates with external testing company, and corrects deficiencies in accordance with local fire code.
Responds to fire alarms and conducts fire drills.
Determines products and supplies needed for work order; coordinates purchase order and obtains supplies from local vendors.
Prepares and cleans up job site, taking into consideration safety concerns of self and others (e.g., students, employees), and disposes of waste and flammable materials.
Updates and maintains fire alarm system testing documentation.
Performs work and cross trains in at least one other trade as an apprentice.
Assists with snow removal efforts on a 24 hour on-call basis.
Responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Perform other duties, as needed.
What You'll Need :
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Four(4) years related experience.
Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and meet District insurability standards.
Denver Fire License required.
