Denver Public Schools is Hiring a PARAPROFESSIONAL, EARLY CHILDHOOD SUBSTITUTE Near Denver, CO
LOCATION: Specific schools and all grade levels across Denver Public Schools HOURS: Monday-Friday, full and half day assignments may be available SALARY: $20.50 per hour ** Please note : Applications will be received until May 30, 2025. Interested applicants must apply online by visiting the Denver Public Schools job board at careers.dpsk12.org .** About this job: Provides assistance with instruction, care and discipline, and preparation of instructional materials for three, four and/or five-year-old pre-kindergarten students as directed by the classroom teacher. Creates a supportive learning environment for students. All Substitute Early Childhood Education Paraprofessionals are requested to work a minimum of five (5) assignments a month. Competitive starting hourly rate of $20.50 per hour (rate is currently reflective of the 2023-24 school year).

What You'll Do:
Prepares and sets-up educational materials and cleans-up classroom
Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, computer-based instruction, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods
Assists individuals and small student groups, with basic skill development (e.g., shapes, letter and number recognition, social skills) and reinforces learning concepts presented by teachers
Assists with field trips, parent meetings (including child care), and other classroom activities
Communicates and coordinates with educational staff, students and parents about performance, disciplinary, and routine education issues
Supervises students at assigned site and reinforces positive student behaviors and student related administration policies and rules
Discusses and coordinates instructional efforts with teachers and educational staff
Assists with child's basic needs (e.g. dressing, personal hygiene)
Plans and evaluates program and student needs with the teacher daily and addresses specific student needs as identified by the teacher
Maintains the confidentiality of student information
Complies with program rules and regulations, including State of Colorado licensing requirements for Child Care Centers
What You'll Need:
Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent

Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
