Denver Rescue Mission is Hiring an Events Manager Near Denver, CO

Description

The Events Manager (EM) is primarily responsible for the planning and execution of all events both internally and externally. This position manages the seasonal Events Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and professional expertise in the planning and implementation of all Denver Rescue Mission events including but not limited to donor events, volunteer engagement, client events, approximately 60 events annually.
  • Plan and execute the annual program events hosted by Denver Rescue Mission.
  • Collaborate with donor team on fundraising events including specific support on fundraising strategies and sponsorship packages.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community stakeholders to enhance engagement support. 
  • Lead the promotion of fundraising events to donors, volunteers, and potential attendees 
  • Provide events leadership oversight across programs, operations, administration, and development at Denver Rescue Mission.
  • Oversee coordination of all internal staff events.
  • Assist various Mission departments on all aspects of events including set up, managing RSVPs, logistics, and product orders.
  • Oversee all operational functions including scheduling, staffing, event protocols, inventory, supply purchasing, community relations and acquiring necessary event permits for all events at Denver Rescue Mission.
  • Collaborate with Communication team on creation and coordination of collateral and marketing strategies related to fundraising, program, and community events.
  • Promote client related events to human service providers and other like agencies 
  • Oversee communication with community partners and fellow service providers for all program related events in Denver metro area.
  • Strategically analyze current event list to discover which events are successful, and constantly update and change as needed to improve the events each year.
  • Attend regular staff and Development meetings.
  • Manage the Events Coordinator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities on all Mission events to include tasks such as:

  • Manage and carry out detailed task list.
  • General overall organization of events including managing logistics, execution and follow up on each event. (i.e. scheduling facilities, dates and times for events, insurance).
  • Securing necessary legal documents or permitting for all events.
  • Follow specific budget for each event.
  • Develop special events timeline and print material schedules.
  • Coordinate with public relations team for media/social media presence 
  • Track and manage guest lists and manage all correspondence, including volunteers.
  • Produce post-event acknowledgements.
  • Track and report event expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as: Communications, Marketing, Fundraising, Event Management etc. or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three to five years of applicable work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & moderate design experience with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends, weeknights, and some holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills, to include both oral and written.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks while independently following through with details.
  • Good customer service skills with the ability to interact with integrity, respect, and professionalism with a diverse group of people.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver boxes that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Active Driver’s License as a limited amount of work-related travel will be required.
  • Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.
